Lexile.com offers a quick book search that provides the lexile score for various books.  http://www.lexile.com/

Newsela.com offers students the wonderful experience of reading nonfiction text that is correlated to their current reading lexile range.  Students will have the opportunity to read pre-assigned inspirational articles.  In addition, they will have the chance to highlight key ideas and even add annotations to the margins.  Finally, students can take a comprehension quiz that is aligned with the Colorado State Standards. https://newsela.com/

The Academy of Achievement is an engaging resource that offers students the opportunity to research inspiring individuals that may share similar interests, personality types, and challenges.  Students will spend most of their time researching various achievers in the Keys to Success/Find a Role Model section. http://www.achievement.org/

Wonder by R.J. Palacio is an amazingly inspiring fiction story that our classroom of students enjoys reading during our snack and read aloud time during the first trimester of school.  After reading the book, we celebrate by participating in various activities inspired by Wonder and explore different resources available.  Check out the World of Wonder website that includes information about the book, movie, characters, author, and more!
